2026–27 Organizational Goals
Governance
1. Complete Governance Policy Review
Goal: Review and update all key governance policies and board documents by December 31, 2026.
Measures:
- Review all governance-related policies annually.
- Update policies as recommended by legal counsel and best practices.
- Present all recommended changes to the Board for approval.
2. Implement Annual Compliance Process
Goal: Achieve 100% Board and senior staff compliance with annual governance requirements by December 31, 2026.
Measures:
- Collect signed Conflict of Interest Disclosure Forms from all Board members and designated staff.
- Collect annual policy acknowledgements as required.
- Maintain centralized governance records.
3. Strengthen Board Recruitment & Development
Goal: Recruit and onboard at least two new Board members by June 30, 2027.
Measures:
- Maintain a Board skills and diversity matrix.
- Conduct formal onboarding for all new Board members.
- Develop a pipeline of at least five prospective Board candidates.
4. Enhance Board Engagement
Goal: Increase Board participation in committee work, fundraising, and organizational initiatives during FY 2026–27.
Measures:
- Maintain active Governance, Development, Finance, and Executive Committees.
- Achieve at least 75% attendance at Board and committee meetings.
- Establish annual Board member expectations related to engagement and philanthropy.
Development
1. Columbus Nations Cup
Goal: Continue growing Columbus Nations Cup as Final Third Foundation's signature community showcase event.
Success Measures:
- Increase overall event attendance by 15% over 2025.
- Increase attendance from community partners, schools, nonprofit organizations, corporate partners, and public officials.
- Develop and implement a VIP and partner engagement plan for the event.
- Utilize the event to cultivate at least 3 new organizational relationships that may lead to future partnerships, sponsorships, volunteers, or supporters.
2. Goals on the Green Golf Classic
Goal: Establish Goals on the Green as F3's premier annual fundraising event and a significant source of unrestricted revenue.
Success Measures:
- Achieve a minimum net surplus target of $40,000.
- Secure 10 event sponsors.
- Register at least 100 golfers.
- Develop a committee-led outreach strategy for sponsorships, foursomes, and auction items.
- Implement a post-event stewardship plan to engage participants and sponsors for future support.
3. Pathways Park & F3 Hub
Goal: Advance awareness, partnerships, and funding opportunities for the long-term development of Pathways Park and the F3 Hub.
Success Measures:
- Assist in identifying and cultivating at least 10 prospective funders, corporate partners, community leaders, or champions.
- Support at least 3 strategic meetings, site tours, presentations, or introductions related to the project.
- Help facilitate new commitments toward the Pathways Park vision and capital campaign.
- Increase community awareness of the project through networking, presentations, and relationship-building efforts.
4. Committee Engagement & Accountability
Goal: Ensure Development Committee members actively support fundraising, relationship development, and strategic growth efforts.
Success Measures:
- Attend at least 75% of Development Committee meetings.
- Participate in at least one development-related activity annually.
- Review dashboard metrics quarterly and provide recommendations to support progress toward committee goals.
Soccer
1. Grow Recreational Soccer Participation
Increase F3 Recreational Soccer participation from approximately 900 players per season to 1,000 players per season by Fall 2027 while maintaining access to scholarship opportunities.
2. Expand Financial Assistance
Provide at least $35,000 in soccer scholarships annually by Spring 2027 to ensure access for underserved youth and families.
3. Strengthen Coaching Education
Deliver a minimum of 4 coaching education clinics annually and engage at least 75 coaches in coaching education opportunities by June 2027.
4. Develop the Referee Pipeline
Recruit, train, and certify 20 new referees by Spring 2027 through referee education clinics and mentorship opportunities.
5. Grow the F3 Academy
Increase F3 Academy enrollment from 48 players to 75 players by Fall 2027 while maintaining affordable access and player development standards.
6. Expand Development League Opportunities
Support participation of at least 12 teams annually in the F3 Development League by Spring 2027.
7. Improve Parent & Participant Satisfaction
Achieve a parent satisfaction rating of at least 90% on annual recreational soccer surveys by Spring 2027.
8. Increase Volunteer Engagement
Recruit and retain at least 50 active volunteer coaches annually across all recreational soccer divisions by Fall 2027.
9. Create Additional Competitive Pathways
Establish at least 3 new partnerships with clubs, schools, or community organizations to expand soccer participation and player development opportunities by June 2027.
Stretch Goals
- Reach 1,800 recreational players annually by 2028.
- Grow Academy participation to 100 players.
- Host 2 referee certification clinics annually.
- Launch a girls-focused Academy or Development League pathway.
- Secure one dedicated grant or corporate partner specifically supporting soccer access and scholarships.
Soccer & Literacy
1. Expand Program Reach
Goal: Increase the overall reach and depth of Soccer & Literacy programming by 20% during the 2026–27 school year, through growth in both the number of students served and the number of interactions each student has with the program.
Measure: Total students served, total student interactions, average interactions per student, and number of active program sites.
2. Improve Literacy Outcomes
Goal: Ensure that 80% of participating students demonstrate measurable growth in literacy-related assessments, reading confidence surveys, or educator observations by the end of the school year.
Measure: Pre/post assessments, teacher surveys, and student feedback.
3. Strengthen School Partnerships
Goal: Secure five new school or after-school program partnerships by June 30, 2027, prioritizing underserved communities.
Measure: Signed partnership agreements and program implementation.
4. Increase Program & Research Funding
Goal: Secure an additional $150,000 in dedicated Soccer & Literacy funding and identify or secure at least $50,000 in funding opportunities for future research initiatives by June 30, 2027, to support program expansion, evaluation, and long-term sustainability.
Measure: Total funds committed for Soccer & Literacy programming and research projects.
5. Launch a Community Partnership Replication Model
Goal: Establish Soccer & Literacy programming in one new city or community outside of Central Ohio through a partnership with a local nonprofit organization utilizing a train-the-trainer model, including staff training, curriculum implementation, and ongoing technical assistance by June 30, 2027.
Measure: Partnership agreement executed, local staff trained, and programming successfully launched with participating youth.
6. Enhance Data Infrastructure, Evaluation & Research Capacity
Goal: Strengthen Soccer & Literacy's data infrastructure by expanding the organization's data team, enhancing data collection and reporting systems, and implementing more robust evaluation processes by June 30, 2027, to support program improvement, grant reporting, replication efforts, and future research initiatives.
Measure: Expanded data team capacity, improved data management platform and workflows, consistent collection of program and outcome data across all sites, quarterly impact reporting, and increased utilization of data to support funding, research, and programmatic decision-making.
Environmental Awareness Program
1. Expand Sprouts Programming
Increase access to environmental education by implementing at least 10 Sprouts programs in schools during Spring 2027.
Measures:
- Successfully deliver 10 Sprouts programs during Spring 2027.
- Maintain implementation of the 7 confirmed Fall 2026 programs.
- Reach a minimum of 250 students through school-based Sprouts programming during the academic year.
2. Support Community-Based Program Replication
Provide training and technical assistance to at least two external organizations implementing the Sprouts model by June 30, 2027.
Measures:
- Support the Cleveland Soccer Foundation pilot program.
- Support the Barrington Elementary Upper Arlington pilot program.
- Provide curriculum guidance, implementation support, and evaluation recommendations for both partner organizations.
3. Complete Arboretum Development & Accreditation
Complete all requirements necessary to achieve official arboretum accreditation by June 30, 2027.
Measures:
- Complete trail development and signage installation.
- Install tree identification labels throughout the arboretum.
- Launch a dedicated arboretum webpage with educational content and tree inventory.
- Submit and receive arboretum accreditation.
4. Advance Pathways Park Environmental Infrastructure
Begin construction of Field 13 and associated environmental improvements by Spring 2027.
Measures:
- Finalize Field 13 design and site preparation plans.
- Secure necessary approvals and funding commitments.
- Break ground on Field 13 by June 30, 2027.
- Integrate environmental stewardship elements into the project where feasible.
Health & Nutrition
1. Expand Program Reach
Serve 1,000 students per week through Health & Nutrition programming by May 31, 2027.
2. Secure Dedicated Program Funding
Secure at least one new Health & Nutrition-specific grant of $25,000 or more by March 31, 2027.
3. Sustain Leadership Capacity
Secure a minimum of $50,000 in designated operational funding to support the Director of Health & Nutrition position by June 30, 2027.
4. Establish a Health & Nutrition Committee
Launch a dedicated committee by June 30, 2027, with at least five active members supporting fundraising, partnerships, and program strategy.
