Our CESA Sprouts program makes a return this Spring! Registration has opened for your Tiny Tot to participate in stimulating programming in our learning garden at Pathways Park.
This season, registration for CESA Sprouts comes with two complimentary, additional Tiny Tot sessions! Spring 2023 Sprouts program dates are: May: 6, 13, 20 June: 3, 10 (complimentary Tiny Tot session beforehand for these two dates) June 17th
CESA Sprouts takes place about 15 minutes after your Tot’s soccer session on Saturday mornings at Pathways Park. Each 45-minute session in the garden starts with enjoying fresh snacks of fruits and vegetables over an open discussion (whatever the Sprouts want to talk about that day!). Throughout each session we engage with our Garden Notebook activities, rooted in exploration of one’s senses and emotions through observation and documentation. Each notebook activity is tied to the garden work that day, where Sprouts will use their hands to work directly with the soil, seeds, plants, and other elements that make up our garden ecosystem.
At the end of the program your Sprout will walk away from the garden with their Garden Notebook documenting all of the work and activities they did throughout the program, multiple bellies-full of produce, and a newfound (or enhanced) connection to the food they eat, where it comes from, and the landscape/conditions that foster its growth.
The majority of our produce has been donated to Columbus Community Kitchen Inc. and Woodhouse Vegan Restaurant to feed and support our community.
CESA Sprouts is part of F3’s Environmental Awareness Program (EAP), which aims to facilitate experiences that foster connections. And we hope you and your little one will join us for our learning garden experience!
If you have any questions about the program and/or activities we will engage in, please feel free to contact our Director of Environmental Awareness, Max Rosenthal, via email: max@finalthirdfoundation.org
